You cannot build your business around another businesses platform because if you get banned from the platform, the commission payouts get lowered AGAIN, or the affiliate program gets cut then you’re out of business instantly.
Great post , I do read a lot of the Nichehacks articles and this one is so true. At the moment I am in a niche I’m passionate about and yes although I am primarily using Amazon to monetize my site, I will be branching out to use other methods very soon. It frightens me to think the plug can be pulled at any time! I intent to use other affiliate programs as well as Amazon, maybe Google Adsense, I’m not sure yet, some digital products and also to build an email list.
Well, let me say this. There are several videos that Stephan does. They are all great. He is positive and upbeat. A couple of things I am noticing though is that, I am a little disconcerted with the fact that in some of his videos, he sort of flaunts the fact that he’s moving into a $3 million dollar penthouse in Vancouver (it’s really not that glamorous looking at all in my opinion. Oh, and he’s renting it, not buying it.) Or the little pictures and videos of him driving around in his Corvette (more flaunting), or that he mentions all of these different countries he is in such as the Dominican Republic, ..wherever… doing the Airbnb thing. Or the fact that he states many times the dollar figures he makes per month or per year investing. It kind of comes off as flaunting. If you are successful, could you be a bit more humble about your wealth? That is just my “style”.
Now most affiliate programs have strict terms and conditions on how the lead is to be generated. There are also certain methods that are outright banned, such as installing adware or spyware that redirect all search queries for a product to an affiliate’s page. Some affiliate marketing programs go as far as to lay out how a product or service is to be discussed in the content before an affiliate link can be validated.
While these models have diminished in mature e-commerce and online advertising markets they are still prevalent in some more nascent industries. China is one example where Affiliate Marketing does not overtly resemble the same model in the West. With many affiliates being paid a flat “Cost Per Day” with some networks offering Cost Per Click or CPM.
From SEO Perspective they are good purchase but the point is you can’t use it for longer term. The moment you start getting some traffic from Google, the legal team of these companies will get in touch with you to make you stop using the domain. So if you are seriously about making money online & want to work on something that would help you keep making money, these domain names are not worth the time & money.
Your Blog were very helpful to everyone who is interested in affiliate marketing. But due to having lots of tools as an option , I get so much confused. I came SML and found knowledge about affiliate marketing. I signed for siteground affiliates and within 1 month i had my first sale and commision of $50. So it is clear now that affiliate is the best way to monetizing your blog rather wasting time for per CPC and impressions etc.
They do not provide website hosting, you do not get a domain platform, you do not get a keyword research tool. All these things are necessary to build an online business and even though they teach you how to set up your website, you will have to pay extra to get these things.
This is just the beginning and these guys, with their million dollar budgets, established brands, teams of experts, and huge marketing budgets will dominate the SERPS and make it near impossible for a bedroom affiliate churning out keyword laden generic affiliate “reviews” (of products they’ve never used) to compete, which is a good thing IMO.
In 2006, the most active sectors for affiliate marketing were the adult gambling, retail industries and file-sharing services.[17]:149–150 The three sectors expected to experience the greatest growth are the mobile phone, finance, and travel sectors.[17] Soon after these sectors came the entertainment (particularly gaming) and Internet-related services (particularly broadband) sectors. Also several of the affiliate solution providers expect to see increased interest from business-to-business marketers and advertisers in using affiliate marketing as part of their mix.[17]:149–150
However, more recent examples exist of “thin” affiliate sites that are using the affiliate marketing model to create value for Consumers by offering them a service. These thin content service Affiliates fall into three categories:
This is especially true if you are a gadget or mobile blogger. You can write a complete review of a phone and give an Amazon affiliate link. By spending 15 minutes of your time and finding the best mobile deal, you can add substantial extra income.

Let’s face it: technology, especially the internet, can be pretty daunting to try to grasp, and with terms like malware, cursor and spam, it also seems pretty dangerous. So kudos to the guys who decided e-commerce and affiliate marketing should rely on an innocuous technology called a “cookie.”
Video sharing websites: YouTube videos are often utilized by affiliates to do affiliate marketing. A person would create a video and place a link to the affiliate product they are promoting in the video itself and within the description.
It’s TOO EASY to get caught up dabbling in life. Distraction, procrastination, laziness, fear, doubt, ego… these are all qualities of the “Dabbler” and reason why the majority struggle and ultimately end up unfulfilled.
The most common question I hear is related to how companies track the record of who is sending the traffic and making the sales. The simple answer is with a tracking URL (a unique link given to you by the affiliate company or product company).

Affiliate Marketing Secrets
One thing I would like to point out is the fact that I could make huge commissions by giving this program a perfect review. The whole point of this website is to provide accurate information to my readers, regardless of how much commissions I could earn from a program.
It’s hard to call a program a scam when they let you come in and see for yourself how much value you would be getting before they try to take a cent from you. I have always said on this website that you should not sign up for any program that does not at least have a trial offer.
Absolutely. Affiliate marketing is a viable and legitimate way to monetize your blog or website. Tens of thousands of merchants run affiliate programs and will pay you a commission for sending them sales. However, there are some scams centered around affiliate marketing. He said he’s offering special limited time bonuses (7 webinars + the program facebook group) and a huge discount the first week (until tomorrow). There are two payment choices: one payment of $997 or 3 payments of $397. Tomorrow the price is going up to one payment of $1997 or 3 payments of $797. He also said that this year he’s planning on building two schools in Ethiopia and he’s going to donate the 10% of the purchase towards his campaigns to build the 2 schools.
I want to join Amazon as a affiliate. I have filled the form. In the 2nd step they are asking for list of List all the top level domains and/or mobile apps on which you plan to display banners, widgets, Special Links, or other ads from Amazon Associates. You need to add at least one website, social media page or mobile app.
Last week a new training program called Affiliate Marketing Mastery, by Stefan James Pylarinos, was released. I’ve watched some videos of Stefan explaining about the program and it seems it’s awesome what’s offered. I also attended a webinar yesterday and he answered questions we had, I remember asking if he recommends the program to experts and the answer was affirmative. He seems to be honest and with a desire to help. The program is not only about affiliate marketing, it’s also about kindle publishing.
